  1. In case I miss it tomorrow, Happy (early) birthday to [livejournal.com profile] bucko! I hope it's awesome.

  2. It kind of really sucks that all the LJ/6A stuff happened in the middle of the [livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies fantasy fest. That's right, I'm here for the porn, people. Ok, that's not entirely true, but still...I was kind of excited to read the fic from it.

  3. Will hopefully be uploading more of The Dark Side of Porn tomorrow or so. I think the next episode is going to produce mixed reactions (um, assuming people actually download it). I think all the episodes are tagged with "the dark side of porn". On LJ, they are here, if you've missed any.

Ok, My mom is reading DH right now, and asks "Ok, if Dobby was freed when he got the sock...why wasn't Kreacher freed when Harry gave him the locket?" Now, my assumption is that jewelry is not the same as clothes, right? Since it's more of an accessory, than anything else. Still, not a bad question

Anyway, not much to report here. I'm addicted to Scrabble on Facebook though. And I'm so burnt out right now that school beginning in a couple weeks should be...interesting.

What about when Kreacher went to hang up Harry's Invisibility Cloak when he came back from checking out the Ministry that one time, right? I think a cloak constitutes more as clothes, but then, I've been pretty baffled over how the house-elves at Hogwarts can do all the kids' laundry (and Hermione did nick those Slytherin robes from a supposed laundry in CoS before the Polyjuice thing, so...).

I don't understand the whole clothes thing. See my first guess would be that they had to be handed to the elf from the wizard, but then I couldn't figure out why Hermione would knit all the hats or whatever and leave them about, and why the other elves wouldn't want to clean the tower, since they couldn't be tricked into being free since clothes weren't actually being handed to them (I think that's what happened? I haven't read the book in a while). Bah.

Maybe it was really obvious she had made the hats specifically for them? That's the way I always figured it, but then I never gave it much though. Hmm.

Well, one explanation is that house elves can only be freed by the master or mistress of the household, which in Hogwarts would mean only a staff member, maybe even only Dumbledore or McGonagall, could free them.

The other explanation is that students leave their stuff in a laundry basket for the elves to collect. :)

PS. Are you on Facebook too? Cool! I'm Jenna Matthews from London. :)
