Dr Who - The Sound of Drums
Jun. 23rd, 2007 06:25 pmOh my goodness. Oh, Martha. Didn't really appreciate the Doctor sort of...poking fun at the whole "I know what it's like - it's like when you like someone but they don't notice you" bit..she looked so...sad. At least Jack seemed a bit understanding and sympathetic with his "You, too?". Found the Master a bit...annoying in parts to be frank, a bit juvenile. Reminded me too much of Rose and The Doctor last season in the werewolf episode, when I wanted to smack them. So I have to admit when the president was all "Since Britain elected an ass, yes" I was all "HA!" Anyway, as the Big Bad this season, he's quite good, though I'd rather a solely evil villain than one I find evil and annoying, since I spend time wanting to smack him rather than somewhat afraid of what he can do, you know? and, for the record, I do like the actor, it's just I find the character annoying. He can't really help what he's given. Still, given that he's supposed to be a bit mad and lunatic, I'll accept it.
When they find the TARDIS and Martha says "She sounds...sick" I was all "awww" at that. Have I mentioned how much I love Martha this season? Because I'm totally loving her. Dude when Martha leaves DW, they should get rid of Owen and have her as the TW doctor. Except not really. I wonder how Martha saves the world. And if the TARDIS is ok. And if Jack will still be immortal. And if the Doctor stays old and all.
Also the alien things? Totally remind me of that thing in Star Wars - when Darth Vader goes and sees Leia in the cell in A New Hope - that black ball thingie. Or the love child of that and a Death Star.
AND OMG GALLIFREY. He looked into the Schism, and the Schism looked into him (oh come on, like you couldn't see that one coming) I wonder if that means the Doctor and Master will kiss now? ("I can make the drumming go away if I kiss you, I promise!") No? ok then.
I wish the writing for getting Torchwood out of the way was more...realistic. Because I...didn't really buy it. Speaking of - when Jack revealed he worked for Torchwood and the Doctor's reaction (aww...Jack rebuilt Torchwood and changed it....so they have much more sex now). I'm sure the Doctor and Jack are going to have a Talk about Torchwood. Also - Jack mentioned that there's only a half dozen of them (I'm assuming Torchwood people, and not...Torchwoods. Um. Yes. Anyway) left...I thought in "Everything Changes" he tells Gwen there's a Torchwood in Glasgow or something?
And who was that lady, and how did she know of Torchwood (and...uh their email address)? I thought they were supposed to be a secret-like? Though I suppose if the police know who they are they aren't THAT secret.
Ok, it's dinner time, I'll be back to add more thoughts later, I'm sure.
Also, next week is going to suck since I won't be able to download until Monday...
